Doing the right thing for a client's business
has required that we understand the experiences of our client's
customers and embed that understanding in the solutions we
design and implement. In recent years, we have become highly
regarded for our commitment to human-centered design and our
ability to make that focus a highly effective one for our
clients.
Building
Construction Resource Center - BCRC
In 1991, the Indiana Industrial Roundtable determined that
workers, on their job sites, from area contractors would be
required to be certified as being tested drug-free. The predicament
was that there were no software programs or hardware configurations
available to provide for this process.
Xsys,
Inc. was contracted to design and implement the drug-free
testing certification system for BCRC. We developed an in-house
system that administers, tracks, and provides real time access
for assessing the drug-free status of the area's working contractors.
Included within the finished project were confidential data
transfers on the test results, field devices to call up and
determine the drug status of individuals entering job sites
in real time mode, and the ability to use dial-up services
to perform the same look-up. This system is currently fully
operational and beginning to expand into other area's of the
United States.
Combined
Transport Services, Inc.
In 1994, Xsys, Inc. was contracted as a consultant for one
the largest flatbed trucking and transportation companies
in the United States, Combined Transport Services, Inc.
Initially,
we found that Combined's systems were segmented and the throughput
of operations was largely being handled by manual processes.
In addition, the software available to them was both extremely
expensive and dealt more with standard types of trucking services.
Combined Transport Services, Inc. was both a broker and had
a series of terminals across the United States. After analyzing
several options, we took a well established software application
to service Combine's core accounting needs and re-designed,
developed and implemented a dispatch/brokerage system that
integrates seamlessly within their core accounting application
needs. Combined currently uses the dispatch/brokerage system
over a virtual private network (VPN) processing large amounts
of information and moving freight throughout the United States.
Target
Construction Services, Inc.
Target Construction Services, Inc. is an Internet-based service
which provides job and bid information to Midwest contractors
on jobs that are being released in their area. Target's web
portal provided for Internet-based retrieval of the information
as well as the capability to pay for and subscribe to their
services. One major issue arose concerning the backend of
this process, the inability to access and integrate this information
into their high-level accounting system for billing, tracking
subscriptions, and the automated re-billing of its subscribers.
Xsys,
Inc. provided a basic core accounting system and developed
data integration into their web site resulting in the successful
retrieval and processing of revenue and subscription information.
